SOOTHING
Helps calm discomfort after demanding climbs, long descents and intense training days.
Arnica montana in every balm
Used for generations in mountain communities because people could feel the soothing and relieving effects of Arnica montana.
For generations, this bright yellow alpine flower has been applied to tired, bruised and overworked areas after long days in the mountains.
Arnica contains naturally occurring plant compounds known as sesquiterpene lactones. These compounds have been studied for their interaction with the inflammatory processes associated with tenderness, swelling and localised muscular discomfort.
Recovery Balm is made in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, where it is tried and tested in demanding mountain conditions. Arnica is infused into nourishing oils to create balms that support the muscles and joints to optimise performance.
Where it comes from
Our arnica comes from a small organic farm and distillery in France, where the same family has grown and harvested plants for over 20 years. No fertilisers, no treatments — just sun, wind, and biodynamic farming that lets each plant grow at its own rhythm, distilled fresh daily.
Why it belongs in your pack
Helps calm discomfort after demanding climbs, long descents and intense training days.
The balm creates a smooth, controlled glide, allowing time to work slowly into calves, quads, shoulders and other heavily used areas.
Used before bed, the formula helps overworked muscles settle and creates the conditions for deeper rest and overnight recovery.
How it works
Arnica montana carries a group of compounds called sesquiterpene lactones — mainly helenalin — plus flavonoids and volatile oils. Applied to the skin, they cross the barrier and act locally: helenalin interferes with NF-κB, one of the main switches driving the inflammatory response, while circulation to the area increases.

Explore a few exercises and massage techniques to support sports recovery and ease muscle and joint tension.
Recovery Balm is created in collaboration with physiotherapists who work every day with ultra-trail runners, mountaineers and triathletes. They understand the needs of the body and the demands of these sports.
Tested at extreme altitude: Recovery Balm is used by athletes at altitudes where the body is pushed to its limits, through endurance efforts and high-mountain conditions.
For us, sport and exercise are a way of life. They shape our everyday choices and the way we consume. Our physical health directly affects our mental wellbeing, and our energy levels reflect that connection.

Soleus, gastrocnemius, tibialis posterior and peroneal muscles
These muscles often hold tension after activity, sometimes without you noticing. Massaging them can reveal just how much extra work they have been doing.
The key: build up gradually
Gastrocnemius massage (calf)
Peroneal muscle massage (outer lower leg)
These muscles stabilise the ankle and often work hard on uneven terrain, during sports involving changes of direction, or on long days spent standing.
Tibialis posterior massage (deeper, inner side of the lower leg)

A massage technique to release the fascia around the calf. Apply pressure to the tissues, then activate the muscle by moving your ankle. This creates an active stretch that helps release the tissues. Done comfortably, this technique can feel soothing and relieving.
Using Recovery Balm with this technique helps care for your calves and maintain the mobility of the lower-leg muscles responsible for power and push-off.
Ideal during training and when preparing for a race.

Tight chest muscles can pull the shoulders forwards, reduce mobility and place strain on the neck.
Technique
Keep the muscles at the front of the neck in mind too (the sternocleidomastoid and platysma): tension here can also pull everything forwards.

Think about the hip, not just the joint
When your knee feels uncomfortable, the source is often higher up: the glutes, hip or fascia lata.
The gluteal muscles support both mobility and stability. When they become stiff, alignment can be affected and strain can shift to other areas, including the lower back and knee.
Releasing tension in the glutes
The role of the TFL (tensor fasciae latae)
A small muscle with a big impact. It connects to the iliotibial band, which runs down towards the knee.
Applying Recovery Balm directly to the knees can also feel very soothing.

Before and after prolonged exercise, take care of your feet. A few gentle presses with your hands along the sole can bring welcome relief.
